You may have been intrigued by the title of today’s blog and wondered to yourself, who does define my worth? Maybe this is something you have thought about many times. It maybe something you have even searched out. Or maybe you have been searching for it subconsciously for years.
The truth is, everyone on this planet is looking to find worth in themselves in some way or by someone.
When we are young, we look to our parents or caregivers. As we get older, we look to friends and then boyfriends.
If we cannot find worth in a mate, we look to success, accomplishments, anything and everything.
But does any of that really bring you worth?
Does any of it really make you feel worthy?
Maybe for a short period of time.

We asked the question yesterday of who has the power or the right to say whether you are worthy or not, and how worthy you are. Well, the answer is, no one does.
“Let no one defraud you by acting as an umpire and declaring you are unworthy and disqualifying you for the prize.” Colossians 2:18
If no one has the right or the power to give you your worth or say that you are worthy of one thing or another, than why do we continue to go around and look for our worth from others?
Yes, we do have the desire to be called worthy of one thing or another, or to feel worth it. But we are waisting our time looking for our worth in places that cannot give it to us. We are giving power over our lives and emotions to people, success and objects. Then we wonder why we hurt so bad and why people are able to hurt us so badly.
Where does our true worth come from? No man. No object. No Success or accomplishment. Our true worth comes from something far greater.
I am talking about the Creator, God. The one who formed you. The one who knows everything about you, to how many hairs are on your head to what your favorite smell is. The one who loves you greater than any man or animal could.
He created you. He is the one that gave you your worth. You already have it. Why look for it anywhere else? Sometimes we need reassurance, I understand that. But God is the one to go to. He will give you the real reassurance that you need.
Look no further, just look up.

Worth It
Yes you are!!! You are worth love and devotion. You are worth time and money. You are beautiful. You are special and no one can say anything different about you.
Why are you worth it? Because you are unique. You are your own person. There is no one else any where that is exactly like you. You have your own talents and skills.
You may be extremely smart. You may be very artistic. You do not even know how much potential you hold. Others around you may not know how much potential you hold.
But the saddest thing is living a life without ever reaching your full potential, without ever taping into it. This happens when we forget that we have worth. This happens when we try to be someone else because we think that will make us more special.
You can never be anything greater or other than yourself. And that is the best thing you can be. So please, be yourself. See the worth in who you are. Develop the skills that you have been blessed with. Allow them to grow and take shape. It will help you see your purpose in this life.
We all have a purpose. When we can see our purpose, then we can truly see our worth. We can see what we can contribute to the world with our life. We can see the bigger picture. We can see that the world is so much bigger than ourselves. And we can be help and love those who are hurting or are less fortunate than we are.

Queen
of your
Life
You have asked, “Do I have worth?” You have been answered, “Yes, you have tons of worth.” You have found that your worth does not come from man but from God, your Creator. You have learned that you are unique and an individual and so is everyone else. Now you have been challenged to live your worth.
What does it mean to “Live Your Worth”?
It means to walk in the worth that you hold. You know that you have worth, now you have to believe it. You have to see it for yourself. You can hear something but nothing will change until you can fully accept it.
Accepting that you have worth means to throw off the rejection that you have received from any and everyone throughout your life. It means living with the knowledge that you already hold your worth and no one can give you more or take it away. It belongs to you.
You hold the power of it yourself. This means you learn to respect yourself more. You know your worth and are unwilling to compromise or give in.
You care for yourself. You do not need to please everyone or gain the acceptance of everyone. You have learned that you do not need the acceptance of anyone. If people are meant to be in your life, they will be. Changing for someone to like you is lowering your worth.
You hold your head high, not out of pride but because your worth demands respect. You do not allow your feet to carry you into places that are compromising. You do not share in worthless gossip.
When you learn your worth, you take on the stature and attitude of a queen. You now have learned that you are one. Even if you have no castle to rule over, you are queen of your life. You take charge of your circumstances and live the life you are worthy of.

The jewelry that drapes across the shoulders and down the neck are so elegant and beautiful. I have been seeing a lot of pictures with ladies wearing jewelry in the not-so normal places but I have not seen any brave souls try it in real life yet.

Know Your
Worth
Enough to
Leave
No one is worthless. We should never think of anyone as worthless. Each person is unique and special with their own skill sets and talents.
But there do come times in life for each of us where we have to realize that there are some people who are “worthless” to us. Not because we are better than them but because they have a tendency to bring you down. They always say negative things about you or the ones you love. They are not a good influence on your life.
These people are not worthless. They are just worthless to you. Their opinion is worthless and everything hurtful that they say or do is worthless. It should mean nothing to you. They have worth, they just have chosen to ignore it and tare people down instead to try to build themselves up and that just ends up hurting them more.
These people need some help and it is possible that you are not the one to give it to them at the time. If you cannot see your worth because of the big cloud of negativity that they bring into your life, it is time to say good bye to them.
Times like these, it is better to let go of these people and move onto better things where you can find healing, wholeness and discover your worth. Then, sometimes, you are able to go back and help them.
So no one is worthless, but sometimes it is worth more to you to remove them from your life, at least for a season.

INSECURITY

The way that you see yourself, the way you perceive yourself and the way you receive yourself has a lot to do with insecurities. Insecurities can stand in the way of you and your worth. They can stand in the way of you and your purpose and they can stand in the way of you and someone you love.
Insecurities are a touchy subject and they are not fun to deal with. Believe me, I have had plenty. One of the craziest things about them is, many of the insecurities that we deal with are a result of things that happened when we were too young to even know what was going on. Some insecurities have even been passed down from our parents.
No matter the case, it is helpful to know that everyone deals with insecurities. We all have our own fears and problems that we have to deal with. And we will go over those at a later time.
The thing to remember right now is that no matter what preconceived ideas you have of yourself, the majority of them are not true. They are your own insecurities. The truth is: you are beautiful and unique, full of purpose and worth.

you
are
You know how we have been talking about worth and how we can look for it in others and in the jobs that we work and so forth? Well, I have a situation where I just realized I was trying to change somethings about me to “fit in” at this place that I am working.
Sometimes we automatically try changing ourselves or something about ourselves (whether it is human nature or something else) to fit in or feel a part of something and we do not even realize right away that we are searching to find worth from an unworthy source.
With me, I have been trying to change a few things about my style. It has been so difficult because I can feel it clashing against who I am. But I kept trying and it just seemed to be getting worse (at least in my eyes). Then I realized that I was trying to conform to what everybody else was and was trying to cover up who I am. I did not even need to because I was already accepted for who I was and I was never asked to change.
So often times when we feel like we need to change to get approval or worth from people or in a job, it is all in our heads. On the off chance that you are told you need to change, you should weigh what is said and see if it goes against who you feel you are. If it does, then I would suggest leaving.
You will be miserable trying to be someone other than yourself.

This picture is just fun and beautiful. It has a swing set that relates to childhood and then these women are dressed in beautiful gowns and that is tied to womanhood. It is unique. It gives you a longing for the past and an appreciation of the present.

A Woman
Who Knows Her
Worth
As a woman who has found her worth, knows she is beautiful, she holds no doubts as to who or what she needs to be. She is comfortable and confidant in her skin.
She makes no excuses or apologies for being herself. A woman that knows her true worth is the most beautiful of sorts. She is comfortable enough with herself to allow herself to just be. No worrying or wondering. No fidgeting but complete and utter confidence.
She laughs, she cries, she lives her life to the fullest in every way and does not care what anyone thinks. She knows her worth is not based off from humans opinions.
She is free to feel like a child and let her hair down as she twirls in the breeze. She is brave enough to stand up for herself and those she loves when motives are questioned or judgments are thrown.
Nothing can stop her or hold her back because she does not look to anyone or anything for her worth. She is not afraid of rejection or failure because she knows that tomorrow is a new day to live and start again.
Life is beautiful for a woman who knows her worth.

Purpose
Whether you can see it now or not, you have purpose. You are a person of worth because you are a person with a purpose (or multiple purposes).
You were placed on this earth for a specific reason. You are working the job you are at for a specific purpose.
We each have been given different purposes. Different things that make our heart beat. Reasons to live and push past the chaos. Motives that drive our actions. Your purpose is unique to you, your talents and your passion.
Instead of living purpose driven lives (lives that go after the very thing that makes us feel alive), we live the status quo (what everyone expects of us) lives. The 9 to 5. The work to pay our bills and get by. But where is the life in that?
You were given a life to live, not to zombie your way through. Let us make our new goal to be that of living a “purpose driven” life, not an “average, barely getting” by life.

I get
one?
More and more people are starting to feel like they have been placed on this earth for more than just the job they are working. They feel something deeper, inside, that urges them to explore their higher purpose. Something is drawing them. They cannot explain it and they cannot quite put their finger on it.
I know what it is. It is your purpose. Your very reason for existence. You cannot ignore because it can die and you, in turn, will feel like the walking dead. That is what has happened to so many people.
Now you are thinking, “Okay, well that is my purpose. So WHAT is MY purpose?” Well, I cannot tell you that and neither can anyone else.
Each person has to seek out their own purpose. They have to discover it for themselves. The best place to look is to your Creator. I mean, God did make you, so you would think he knows what he made you for, right?!
It could be a long journey, finding your purpose, or it could be a short one. If you have never thought about searching it out before, start today.
Sisters
This is my sis! Sisters are such a blessing. As my sister always says, "Sisters are built-in best friends." It is true. I can always count on her and she always done for a road trip.

PURPOSE HINTS

ALL
Although I cannot tell you what your purpose on this earth is, I can give you a few hints. You will take it from there and search your heart. You may not be a praying person, you may not believe in God, but if you want to know what your purpose is (what will make you feel fulfilled in this life) now would be a good time to start. Let’s be honest, why wouldn’t you want to know what you were created for??
So here are the hints:
1. Is there one or two things that you really passionate about? So much so that when the topic is brought up, you are the first to defend or put up a fight for what you believe or feel. Those subjects you are passionate about are somehow tied to your purpose.
2. Do you have any special talents, skills, are you extremely intelligent or athletic? Any and, in some people’s cases, all of their special, unique attributes are connected to their purpose. Your personality type is tied to your purpose.
3. Do you love to be around people or do you prefer the inside of your own four walls?
4. You past story and even your present story are all tied to your purpose.
So maybe you thought you could figure your purpose out after getting all these hints, but I bet I just made it that much more confusing. Because honestly, your purpose is tied to everything that you TRULY are. Everything that you are made from and made of play a role in your purpose for this life.
Maybe you got a glimpse of the big picture, maybe you seen a piece of the puzzle. Whether you know or are still guessing, just know that you are made for something greater.

Risen
As long as there is still breath in your lungs, you have a purpose on this earth.
As you have been reading about purpose these past few days, you may have been thinking that you are either too young or too old for that.
Well, purpose is not one of those things that comes and goes with age. Purpose was planted in you while you were still in your mother’s womb. So you came into this world with a purpose.
The only way your purpose ends is when your life ends. Then your time here is done and there is no more you can accomplish on this earth. Since all of my readers are living beings, you each still have a purpose.
I have heard too many adults in the 45+ range tell me that they do not understand why they are still alive, they have no purpose left in this world. But in reality, they never even taped into their real purpose. God has not taken them from this earth, he is waiting on them to look to him for further direction.
If you are feeling this way, maybe you need to start looking at your life as something you can give not waiting for life to give you something.

PURPOSELESS
Are you
living dead?
Without purpose, people die, internally. Which brings a faster external death.
Purpose gives people hope. It gives them something to live for. It gives them something worth dying for. It gives them something to look forward to. It is that bright light at the end of the tunnel. It is the beauty in their life.
I remember in middle and high school, living for the weekends. No matter how early I had to wake up during the week, how much homework I had to do, I knew I would make it because I had my weekends to look forward to. My weekends were not always crazy and jam packed with adventure but it was a break from the norm, from the things that dried me of energy and life. Back than, my purpose was living for my weekends.
Life has too many unexpecteds, ups and downs, and without warnings. If we have nothing to look forward to, nothing to live forward to, those unexpected circumstances can throw us way out to sea, with the possibility of drowning.
We must not live as purposeless people, walking around as the living dead. It is time to embrace our individual purpose and run after it head on.
I have tried multiple times working the 9 to 5 behind a desk, living the norm. But the norm is what kills my spirits. It is what turns me into the living dead. So I refuse to accept that as the norm and I live a life that is filled with purpose. Pursuing what I love and running after the very thing I was created for. There is no dead man walking here.

SUCCESS V. PURPOSE
Finding
Fulfillment
in Life
Going after success and going after your purpose are two completely different things.
I have heard it said that we should not chase after success because success does not bring you happiness. I have also heard that success can never truly be achieved because we will continually want to go higher on the corporate ladder, make more money, etc ... There is never an actual point of feeling complete in your success.
I completely agree with both statements. Success causes you to continually strive for the next biggest, best thing. Contentment and satisfaction are never reached. Success can breed jealousy, bitterness, greed and so many more things in a person, turning their lives into something other than beautiful.
Going after your purpose is different. When you are pursuing your purpose, you find contentment in each stage of the journey. You know that you are in each place for a reason, whether it is to learn, to grow, or something else. Each part of your journey is important and vital to your purpose, so you embrace it and get the most out of it.
When you are working towards your purpose, you know what the end looks like. You know that will bring you the richest fulfillment that life could ever give. When you work towards your purpose, you are not driven by greed or pride but your only mission is to be who you were made to be.
I would rather be chasing after my purpose than chasing after success, wouldn’t you?

Life is Opportunity
Life is full of wonderful opportunities. Sometimes you have to make them happen. But whatever the case, always go after what you love doing.

Success is like the "American Dream" or Keeping up with the Jones." It is never enough.
Not only are they "unachievable" in a sense but they are made to make everyone be like everyone else.
We all are taught to have the same dream. But the dream has no meaning or purpose. It teaches us to be greedy and want what we do not have.
When we all have the same "dream" of living a comfy lifestyle, what good will come of it? How will we make a difference in the world? How will things ever change?

DREAM BIG
Make Your
Dreams Work For You
If you are going to allow yourself to dream, there is no reason to dream small. Start off dreaming as big as you can and grow from there.
Those who are not afraid to dream big and go after their dreams are the ones that change the world.
A few rules when dreaming:
1. Time and money are no constraints.
2. Do not pay attention to any set rules.
3. Do not allow anyone else’s opinion to shape your dream.
4. Hold nothing back, dream as big as you can.
We cannot be afraid to dream, but even more so, we cannot be afraid to live out our dreams. Time and again the impossible has become possible. It can happen for you.
Go out and start dreaming :-)

ENCOURAGER
Be
The
Word
It is very important to surround yourself with encouraging people. These people are what keep you going. Their words provide strength and give your wings wind to fly.
It is also very important to be an encourager. If you want to stick with encouraging people, you have to be like them. They do not want to surround themselves with naysayers.
With being a model, you get a lot people telling you that you are not good enough. You get a lot of rejection and some harsh things said about you. But with just one nice word of encouragement or a compliment, I go soaring and prove wrong all those that said it could not be done.
Sometimes you just need someone to bring your perspective back into place.
I am always looking for a way to encourage everyone. I believe in each person. If they believe in it, they can do it. I am there to speak life to them and it gives them the drive to do it. One word can change your situation upside down. One word can change someone’s life.
Be that word.

Yours
In life, it always seems like we are fighting a battle to please everyone around us in every way. We want to serve them, love them, give them all the time they need, do what they want us to do, and the list goes on.
When we are so busy trying to please everyone with every part of us, we lose sight of who we are and what we want to do.
We also come to the realization that we can never please them all. No matter how hard we try, someone will always get their feelings hurt or not like the way you did something.
My life has just been one long cycle of trying to please everyone. I always wanted to please my parents when I was growing up. Then in high school, I wanted to please my friends. And then it escalated to trying to please guys so I could get a boyfriend.
Over the past few years, I have finally come to a place where I am not trying to please anyone. I love my family and those who are close to me. But now I am living my own life. I am being me and doing what is best for me for the first time. It is so freeing and so beautiful.
So if you find that you are constantly trying to please everyone, take a step back. Breathe, and take some advice from good, ole Dr. Suess.

DISENGAGED
Walking
in a
Haze
I have been paying a lot of attention to my actions towards others lately. I have stumbled upon a big problem that I have. I know that I have had this problem for a while but I think it is worse than I actually realized.
In my everyday life, I have found myself to be very disengaged. Not only in many conversations but also as I go through life. I find myself constantly thinking of the future and my mind is hardly ever on the present situation. This makes it hard for me to engage in conversation because my mind is so consumed by trying to figure something out, by making travel plans, or who knows what, that I miss out on much of the present.
When I catch myself doing this, I try to bring myself back to the present. Stop and smell the roses. Really look at the beautiful scenery. Try and grasp what this stranger is saying.
I feel like I have been living in this for so long that my head really does feel like it is in the clouds. It is like living through a fog or through a haze. I don’t hate it but I don’t want to miss out on the present either.
Do you live this way too? Maybe just sometimes or all the time like me? If you do, maybe you can join me as I work to bring myself back to the present moment throughout the day.
One way to do that is to set an alarm or two on your phone at sporadic times a day. When it is going off, have it tell you to take a deep breathe and examine your surroundings or something to bring you back to the present.
Enjoy this very moment because you will never get it back.

I think it is so easy for people to live with their head in the clouds. Focusing so much on what you want to do or your problems that you forget to love the world around you.

Change
As April is coming to a close, May is bringing about changes for our blog. As you may have noticed, our website address has now been changed to www.bringingbeautifulback.com
Some other changes that you will see starting this month are our daily topics. We are now putting together a new schedule for our topics. In the past months, we would take on one topic for weeks even up to a month at a time. Now we are going to split up the topics daily.
The new schedule is listed below:
Monday - Health & Fitness
Tuesday - Beauty
Wednesday - Style
Thursday - Inspiration
Friday - Matters of the Heart
Saturday - Surprise
Sunday - Purpose
Also, we will be hosting a monthly webinar on one or more of our normal topics. These will normally be held at the end of each month. You can sign up on the e-mail list so that you will be informed of when they are and what the topics will be.
Instead of having a “Picture of Beauty of the Day” we will now be having “Beautiful Style of the Day.” If you love the outfit that you or a friend are wearing, send us a picture and we will put it up on the sight.
Lastly, tell your friends about us. We are going to begin growing our audience because we are wanting to make a difference in the lives of women across the nation. Our goal is to bring BeaUtiful back. We need your help!
